Coffman Cove Charters

Hi! I'm Captain Lee Harper and I'd like to welcome you to our website. Fishing in southeast Alaska for halibut and salmon is the experience of a lifetime. When you book a charter with me, you'll be fishing in the world famous Alaskan Inside Passage near Coffman Cove on Prince of Wales Island. It's just a float plane or ferry ride away from Ketchikan, Wrangell, or Petersburg, about a two hour drive from Craig or Klawock, and a little shorter drive from Thorne Bay. Reserve your space in the boat now and enjoy the excitement of hooking into a big king salmon or landing a barn door halibut, sometimes doing both on the same day.

One of my greatest pleasures in life is fishing, and it doesn't get any better than in Alaska. As your licensed guide, I will do my best to put you and your party on the fish of your choice; hopefully sending you home with boxes and memories full of the best Alaska has to offer.

If you have any questions or would like to book a charter with me during the summer, it's best to call (907) 329-2044 to set up your reservation. You can also email me and I'll get back to you as soon as I'm able, but I don't check my inbox on a daily basis in Coffman Cove. I'm too busy fishing! You may also phone my parents, Frank and Ann, or me at (503) 377-2505 from September to mid-June to book your charter for the coming summer season.

The Inter-Island Ferry Authority provides service between Coffman Cove, Wrangell, and Petersburg during the summer months. This information might be helpful to you as you make your reservations to visit Coffman Cove.

Ferry service is also available between Ketchikan and Hollis on a daily basis.

Be aware that the M/V Prince of Wales ran to and from Coffman Cove on Friday, Saturday, and Monday in 2008. The schedule for 2009 is not yet published, so please contact the Inter-Island Ferry Authority to verify future schedules before you make plane reservations to Wrangell.

The weather can be changeable in Coffman Cove and the surrounding area, especially on the water. You can visit The Weather Channel's website to check on the current and forecasted conditions for Coffman Cove, Alaska.

Be sure to bring rain gear and rubber boots. It's also a good idea to have clothes for both cool and warm weather; then dress in layers.

Sunscreen and bug repellant can also be useful and very welcome during your stay.
